Technocrat
Might and Magic is a very large project, I started developing over 1.5 years ago.
Not only it's a G-size map, but also extremely dense with content and done fully manual (no random artifacts, resources, creatures or decorations.
Originally I set a number of ambitious goals :
-The most detailed G-size map created
-Extensive lore-based world, featuring Antagarich, Nighon, Vori and Jadame
-Engaging author story that follows events of Horn of the Abyss
-Thoughtful balance, that addresses main scenario issues and redundancies, through map design means
-Capabilities to provide an enjoyable multiplayer experience
-Cunning end-game challenge
The map is relaxing to play, but hard to beat.
Testing
Although the map is version 1.0 it was tested numerously in singlepayer as well as in 4-man multiplayer (including PvP and its balance). There were a number of patches until the public release.
I think it will be especially to play for people interested in Lore, considering the smallest details being implemented (flooded Balthazar's Labyrinth as a result of Gate of Water (folloing Might and Magic 8 RPG storyline), Necormancer Academy of Twilight, Lizardman-inhabited Daggerwound Island, Devasted Eeofol, Calarnen and Groa, where Yog took his escape.
But lore is not the only thing it emphasizes on, it provides versatile gaming experience and PvP tested balance, interesting to play in lengthy multiplayer sessions.
Our company of 4 is currently having a consecutive run, where I run Inferno through demon hoarding, another plays Rampart through diplomacy and archer stacking and Necropolis slowly rehabilitates its skeleton farming after a rough start.
Cheers
